Business case: I am working with 2 legal entities. LE 1 has entity language set to italian LE 2 has entity language set to english System language is english I have a released product with an EN and IT translation When i go to the released products list page or add items in a sales order I will always get to see the products with EN name and description Desired situation (2 possibilities): 1 When going to IT company, show me products in italian, when going to EN company show me in EN 2 show me the product name and description according to the language set in my user preferences

Displaying product and category names in accordance with user or legal entity in mulitinational environment is a must for implementation for client operating worldwide. Our client operate in few countries with different languages. It's a problem to prepare consistent processes for purch and sales as the list of categories and products display only in one system language. Users from different countries cannot properly carry out sales and purch processes as they cannot read product and category names, which are crucial for document lines. Coherent files is obligatory in a large organization like my client's one.

This must be implemented.. Lets say you got two legal entities, one in France and one in UK. Good luck deciding on "system language" without possibility to let user see language based on legal entity (or user).

We also need it!

Multiple language support should be standard across all of D365FO for product names and categories.

We have similar situation: 2 LE in two different countries (Slovakia and Poland). All released items are in English and despite the fact that we have translation to every item in polish and slovak language it is not possible to see them. Some people are not fluent in English and this function is vital for any multi country implementation. I am really surprised that this is not on the road map yet.

I also strongly support this idea because the current situation is not intelligible. If a client decides to have French, for instance, as system language, users creating a PR/PO have to understand French to select the good article. It is a non-sense and a real pain for multi-language/entity company.
I definitely hope that this improvement is going to be included in a forthcoming released.

Many of our projects are across multiple countries and require multiple languages.

I second this proposal. We run into the same difficulty. Our East German colleages cannot read English, only German. Some French collegues only read French. Although we can insert the translation field into the release items grid, it only shows the Organisations Default language. Doesn't seen to make any sense for a multi national ERP system.

i also support this idea.
we have a multi legal entity / multi language environment with English, Spanish, German, Dutch and French companies. We also have a lot of products shared by these legal entities and the companies want to view their items in their local language (company or user language).
The item name and description are now showed based on the application language. That's not suited for a multi language environment.

I don't consider the current behavior to be a good solution. In a multi country multilingual setup this is causing problems in the organizations since the local users do not necessarily communicate in the system language. The users may not even be familiar with the system language. I've given my support to the idea that this should be changed and that it should be possible to control this behavior with parameter setting allowing the product name to be displayed/printed in the system language, the company language or the user language. I hope this will be implemented since it's really hard to explain the current behavior to the customers.
