Business case: I am working with 2 legal entities. LE 1 has entity language set to italian LE 2 has entity language set to english System language is english I have a released product with an EN and IT translation When i go to the released products list page or add items in a sales order I will always get to see the products with EN name and description Desired situation (2 possibilities): 1 When going to IT company, show me products in italian, when going to EN company show me in EN 2 show me the product name and description according to the language set in my user preferences

Displaying product and category names in accordance with user or legal entity in mulitinational environment is a must for implementation for client operating worldwide. Our client operate in few countries with different languages. It's a problem to prepare consistent processes for purch and sales as the list of categories and products display only in one system language. Users from different countries cannot properly carry out sales and purch processes as they cannot read product and category names, which are crucial for document lines. Coherent files is obligatory in a large organization like my client's one.

I support this idea as well and voted for it.

please considering using users language. This would support the user experience the most. You might need than a fallback language (e.g. user selected a language in which the product is not translated to)

We are a Global company with multiple countries on one instance. We definitely need this feature as it is confusing for our Customer service, logistics, manufacturing and distribution teams when they can't see the correct product name in D365FO when they are creating formulas or just general inquiries and searches on the products. I would think this should be a high priority for a high end ERP system.

To my opinion it is not acceptable not to have those features in the standard. We strongly need it.

I don't understand the standard in this point... why should different legal entities be forced to view item descriptions all in the same language?
The only answer is that who designed this did not think that legal entities could be in countries with different language...
I also strongly encourage to change this asap: very low effort with very big benefit.

My company works in agricultural products and this is a requirement that will limit our ability to share products across multiple legal entities due to the tax/fiscal requirements that may arise; particularly we need this in order to correctly populate fiscal documents in Brazil.

This will also open up the doors for more international companies especially the mining industry. We have 4 legal entities with 4 different language requirements but all companies share master records, to manage the language is a pain and not very efficient for cross-functionality of users moving around operations.

This would be very welcome at Orkla Food ingredients.
The current solutoin causes all kind of problems!

We face the same situation. Corporate language is EN, but we have local settings for German/Italian/French/Spanish/Polish/Portuguese.

My take on this: how can you offer a solution which is used globally, with local language settings and don't go all the way? Our partner would implement a customization but imho this should be part of the standard solution!

Please reconsider your priorities and put it on the roadmap. It would be a huge benefit for multi language companies across the globe and reduze the daily struggle.

Yes - this is needed.
Each Legal entity might use their own language and doesn't have a requirement to maintain product names according to one system language. Today when a new product is created then the product name according to the system language must be applied? This might not be needed. It should be possible to create a product and apply the product name for whatever language(s). The language to show in the UI for each legal entity should be maintained by a list (fall back logic).

It's a must for a multicmpany istallation where synergies are global but business is local
