We have done this modification in the past, however the change log has been used without modification to track the cost changes. I have also seen customers pull the costs from records liek sales lines or item ledger entries to excel to show the cost over time.
I would argue that you should have a new lot for the second day or use the original expiration.
Multiple expirations on a lot doesn't make sense for the definition of a lot from everything I have ever seen. I understand what you are saying but I don't agree with the approach.

It would be nice at least to have ability to consume .net standard 2.0 dll's
Is it possible to archive these with customization? We have some requirements and know how to add custom fields on receipt but not sure about the credit memo barcode.
