We wants to embed the canvas app in a model-driven app and use it in a separate tab or window.
You can place an iframe in the main form of a model-driven app, but embedding in a canvas app is not specified.
However, mobile apps do not support iframes.
Productivity would be improved if mobile apps could be made to use iframes, or if not iframes, if they could be configured not to display in a separate tab or window.
It would be more desirable if the above settings could be configured in the sitemap.

You can do this by creating a Custom Page, which is essentially a Canvas App.We did this and put the custom page on our side nav and it now appears in the mobile app.
