Automatically track SENT e-mails via Dynamics 365 App for Outlook in following common situation:
1. you send an e-mail to a customer via Dynamics 365 for Outlook and manually track it to a record by using "Set regarding"
2. you receive a reply from the customer with the tracking token (this is being tracked automatically)
3. you reply to the customer's reply with the same tracking token

If step 1 and step 2 apply, then the outgoing e-mail in step 3 should be automatically tracked (instead of having to manually track this e-mail again by using "Set regarding" and selecting the same record as in step 1)

Thanks for posting this item and for those that added votes/comments. A change was made so outgoing emails can be tracked automatically. The AutoTrackSentFolderItems setting mentioned in the following article need to be enabled:Automatically track sent folder items with server-side synchronization - Power Platform | Microsoft DocsSome of you may be aware the AutoTrackSentFolderItems setting was actually introduced in version 8.2.2.0840. However, it required the user was configured to use the Track All setting. More recently this was changed to support each of the tracking options.

It would be nice to have a personal setting (per mailbox record in Dynamics 365 Sales/Customer Service/Field Service/etc (wouldn't it be nice to have a single name for the application like say Finance&Operations).

I agree that this is major limitation that should be at the very top of Microsoft's list of issues to address.

Currently, users have to track all outgoing e-mails unless another user happens to be in the "To" or "CC" fields (in which case it is an incomming e-mail for that user). This is confusing and time consuming to most users.

The tracking of outgoing e-mails in response to already tracked conversations should work for other tracking methods too (correlation and smart matching).

We also have end users who are very dissatisfied with it. There is a simple use case for which this function is very important. If a sales employee writes an email to the customer from CRM and the customer later has questions about the email, the data record has to be searched for in CRM. If the email were automatically tracked, the user could simply open the "Sent items" folder and use the Outlook AddIn.
